A
LIFETIME DEDICATED TO THE RESEARCH OF AGING PROBLEMS

 Born
in Braila, Romania in 1896, Prof. Dr. ANA ASLAN dedicated
her long life (92 years old when she passed away)
to the study of geriatric treatment. The results she obtained
in the field with her product GEROVITAL H3, developed in
1951, made her one of the widest known Romanian researchers.
She
studies of medicine at the University of Bucharest 1922
she specialized in cardiology, gerontology and geriatrics.
In 1964 she became a full professor. She than dedicated
all her creative energy to geriatrics and the ways to preserve
physical condition through medical treatment.
Pioneer
of the Romanian school of GH3 was Dr. Ana Aslan, Director
of the Institute of Geriatrics in Bucharest, who studied
the anti-ageing effects of GH3 for over 40 years. In 1956,
she published a paper based on a study of hundreds of elderly
patients proclaiming her formula (Gerovital H3) dispersed
depression, built muscular vigour, and achieved spectacular
results in hypertension, arthritis and angina pectoris.
Intent
on proving her case beyond a reasonable doubt, Dr. Aslan
devised a mammoth study involving 15,000 healthy, but ageing
workers between the ages of 40 and 62 in 144 centres throughout
Romania. All receiving the best medical care during the
two-year experiment, however, some also got GH3.
In
1972, Dr. Aslan reported her amazing findings to the
International Symposium of Gerontology in Karlruhe.
In every measure of health workers tested with GH3 exceeded
the non-treated. For example:
Blood
pressure was improved
in 85% with Gerovital; control group, 63.8%.
Heart problems were improved in 85.2% with Gerovital;
control group, 63.8%.
High pulse rate was normalized in 93% of the Gerovital
group, control group 88%.
Low pulse rate was normalized in 9% more of the
GH3 treated patients.
Respiratory capacity was unchanged in 96.1% of
the Gerovital patients as opposed to 91.2% in the control
group. This is significant because lung capacity decreases
rapidly during the late, middle years. Stabilizing lung
capacity in patients of these ages implies a retardation
of the aging process.
Cardiovascular effect of those showing a low heart
rate. Gerovital maintained most patients at the same level
for two years when a slow decline would be normally expected.
Muscular strength there were significant improvements
in twice as many of the Gerovital patients than the control
group. 25.9% showed improvement with Gerovital when a
decline of muscle power is expected.
In terms of prevention, the number of sick days
in the GH3 group declined nearly 40 percent compared to
the pre-test years. Also 77% of the GH3 group performed
their work production norms, whereas 20% actually exceeded
their usual work performance.
Surely
these results indicated that GH3 retards the normal signs
of age. Blood pressure is not supposed to normalise, nor
muscles harden nor sickness diminish in the sunset years.
Yet the old do not seem to get appreciably older on a
diet of GH3 at the same rate The cellular effect of the
Aslan product bears different characteristics and dimensions
regarding the organ in question and its role within the
body. The improvement of the superior nervous activity
presents a particular importance.
Her
researches and the development of the GEROVITAL H3 formula
brought her the nomination as honorary member of numerous
medical establishments and foundation. She was at the origin
of the high interest of countless international personalities
for the geriatric treatments provided in Romania.
She
treated many famous persons such as: Mao Tse-toung, Charles
de Gaulle, Pablo Picasso, Sir Winston Churchill, Charlie
Chaplin, Marlene Dietriech, Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu,
Konrad Adenanuer, Aristotle Onasis, John F. Kennedy and
many more.
She
was a member of The Science Academy of New York, of the
World Union of Prophylactic and Hygiene Medicine, honorary
member of European Center for Medical Research, president
of International Association of Gerontology, president of
Romanian Society of Gerontology, etc.
